The Dogtra EDGE RT2 Retriever Training E-Collar is made for handlers who need to make corrections quickly without taking their attention off the dog. Built around the way retrievers are actually trained, the EDGE RT2 combines a 1.2-mile range, simple 10-level stimulation dial, quick-access buttons, and Low, Medium, and High Combo Boost in a transmitter designed for no-look operation.
That straightforward control is what sets the EDGE RT2 apart. Instead of working through a large number of stimulation levels, the 10-level Selector Dial gives you positive click-by-click adjustment that's easy to feel with your thumb. Dedicated Nick and Constant buttons keep your primary corrections immediately available, while Combo Boost lets you quickly increase stimulation when you need a stronger response.
The Low, Medium, and High Combo Boost settings are especially useful when training retrievers in changing situations. A dog that responds properly during yard work may need a different level of correction once distance, water, birds, or other distractions enter the picture. Combo Boost gives you fast access to additional stimulation without stopping to work your way through the dial.
The EDGE RT2 isn't limited to stimulation. XPP Pager vibration and audible tone give you additional ways to communicate with your dog, while Dogtra's Performance PWM stimulation provides consistent output across the stimulation levels. Whether you're handling a dog on land or across water, the controls are laid out so you can concentrate on timing instead of looking down at the transmitter.
For early mornings, evening training, and dogs working in heavy cover, the receiver has dual-sided 1000 LUX LED locate lights. The added visibility makes it easier to locate your dog in low-light conditions and can also help identify individual dogs when you're running more than one receiver.
Both the transmitter and receiver carry an IPX9K waterproof rating, an important feature on a retriever training collar that's going to spend time around ponds, marshes, wet cover, and bad weather. The transmitter is 12% slimmer than the previous EDGE RT and has a vulcanized rubber grip that sits securely in your hand. USB-C charging keeps things simple when it's time to recharge the system.
The EDGE RT2 comes set up for one dog but can be expanded to control up to four dogs with additional compatible receivers. A dedicated dog selector lets you choose the dog you're working and train each dog separately from the same transmitter. That gives you room to expand the system without replacing your transmitter as you add dogs.
